Sawlegen is a Gothic Black oriental metal band formed in 2004.Following the example of bands like Dimmu Borgir or Cradle Of Filth, the style of this band is very different from the classic black metal with speed rythms and growl voices that we know. Here the melody takes a very important part, together with the use of keyboards. Relaxing songs, a sweet voice that guide us in a world of wonderful atmospheres, whose peace is interrupted only few times by fast drum/guitar solos.
Growl voice appears only few times and it's less hard than in classic black metal. It seems that also traditional moroccan music hasn't been forgiven: some vocal/instrumental parts reminds us of the home country of these guys.
The graphic presentation of the band is very good too: it reminds classic oriental decorations and, as the rest of the album, is very different from what we used to know about the black metal album covers.
So, all we can say is wishing all the
best to this band and keep waiting for the next album.
