Schandmaul

Good performance for the German band, which shows a good presence on stage and an excellent ability to stay on it, everything is made easier by the fact that it is much appreciated by the public, home support, of course, helps the performance. With their folk load and not particularly powerful, but made with a lot of melodic part, they let the public sing with them and not get bored. Nice show.


Der W

The singer of German band comes on stage acclaimed by the public, probably by a factor of belonging and national reasons not purely musical in fact the riffs resulte quite trivial and non-impressive, sometimes even away from metal. Accompanied by a string quartet the band play some pieces great idea but the show become pretty boring for others who can’t understand the frontman’s words, especially those who came near them to wait for the last show of Running Wild.

Running Wild

“The final jolly roger: the last show of the great German band” that’s what the t-shirt produced specially for the event said. As introduction to the show actors dressed as pirates resigned speaking something in German, leaving perplexed viewers who do not understand the language . After the little-show the Running Wild run on the stage opening the concert with a big classic of Port Royal. The show is very interesting with pieces expected and other of niche but in the end many were disappointed because they expected more, but objectively it was a good show considering the age of the leader now tired in voice and playing the guitar, the only flaw was perhaps the low use of stage effects outside some small and rare flare and fireworks. Good choice ending whit Under jolly roger that makes the excited public screaming and singing with the band who close his career with this show!

Heaven and Hell

Nothing to say about this legendary training. Butler and Apply an earthquake of rhythmic, Iommi rare weaves and melodic lines, hypnotic and tighten solos while Dio enchants everyone with his eternal voice and his unmistakable posture. The ladder is focused as usual on parts of Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules but some extracts from Dehumanizer and expected since The devil you know. Even the pieces of the effort to merge let the setlist ends with Neon Knights performed over 20 minutes. The professional of these giants of metal is indisputable, we hope that they will go on to be so active.

Grand Magus

Great show for the Swedish trio, who has the power to hypnotize the people in front of the stage. With a lot of tracks taken from their last production “Iron Will” like I am the north or like the oar strikes the water they have the right energy to make the public enjoy the performance, even if it’s already passed a long and hot day. This band is a great promise for the music scene.


Napalm Death

After a sudden change of setlist instead of suidakra (called to take the place of Mago de Oz) on Friday as the first group playing Napalm death, the legends of grindcore. Who goes to see them knows what to expect from this band, convulsive movements, rending cries, confused and noisy riff and drums constantly equal. Certainly credited as producing more crude to Wacken this show was not entirely advisable at all, well it was a niche show for those who appreciate the genre, maybe disgusting and annoying for non-listeners.

Vreid

The first major surprise of the festival is this band, the Vreid, training ¾ composed by members of Windir the base is a melodic black metal and listening is not difficult sometimes it sounds like Enslaved or Enherjer . Faithful productions and good realization in this live performance during while the band has to navigate between the public and shouts flames on stage. In the end a very interesting show .

Ufo

Maybe too early to play for a mythical team like UFO , the frontman notes that fact 2 or 3 times, they has to play at 12.30 p.m.. Despite these living legends churn out a thrilling show by the best feeling of hard rock classics as Lights Out and Too Hot Too Handle, and also with pieces of the new cd. The exhibition ends with a long Rock Bottom seasoned by beautiful solos by Vinnie Moore.

Endstille

The black metal time at Wacken is important as every year, this year the choice is fallen on a German Band , Endstille, very popular in all the nation.
Contrary to what might happen to bands like Immortal or Satyricon who among the throngs of fans also listeners from other genres, in front of the stage there were only black metal fans, the proposal is a minimal music and a lot of rough comparable to Marduk or Gorgoroth. The stage however is filled well and the show for those interested is satisfactory.

Gamma Ray

Gamma Ray, when this name sounds in the air every person interested in the project of Kai Hansen knows that it will be a great and powerful show. Like every time they play they are pleasant and fun to see ,but the new piece which will be presented during this live is not curious or something new, it was only a confirmation from the new cd. The end with the popular Send Me A Sign helps the band to close without public disappointment.

Walls Of Jericho

With Walls Of Jericho is given the space to the Metalcore almost always different from the rest of the metal. For all the fans it was a great show, the audience was always in delirium among circle pit and crowd surfing and the band very determined, especially the frontman maybe too tedious with 4 or 5 ''F @% K'' per phrase ,so, very annoying for those who do not appreciate the genre and that kind of stuff.

Nevermore

Nevermore exhibition does not convinced everyone to 100%, nevertheless appreciated by all especially for the selection of the ladder very interesting for the numerous excerpts from Dead Heart In A Dead World as The Heart-collector or Inside For Walls or Narcosynthesis . No doubt, the presence of a single guitar make a sense of emptiness for the performance of this great band but the dear Loomis has demonstrated his supreme technical ability and perhaps the reason that has betrayed them was playing with the sun so bright, that has ruined the atmosphere of their melancholic pieces .

Airbourne

A background made of only one disc identical to band 30 years ago and are at Wacken for the second time and even playing after Nevermore? 4 Australian hangover with many problems with the sound technique and a little higher than the rudiments are moving tens of thousands of people, as they say is the strength of the Rock n roll, it was possible to see more people on the disengagement of listening music with fewer pretensions. Except for those who love this genre of the usual old story, hard rock to dance, rough voice and the front man who climbs the stage to do the solo to several meters from the ground they don t impress anyone ,same show of one year ago.

Hammerfall

A powerful show as expected by the Swedish quintet, a lot of people waiting to appreciate them and with their pieces well structured and also easy to memorize they rise up the audience. A goog choice for the setlist that took material from the first Glory To The Brave at the newest pieces from Chapter V, or even from the new album No Sacrifice, No Victory.
Despite the various changes in training are able to re-build a team that is effective in the study as in live performances.


Motorhead

Incredible. Fantastic. Wonderful. All terms are not satisfactory enough to describe what Motorhead are on the stage. The start with Iron Fist have fired the teeth of the audience, their best rounds without disappointing a second .
Visible to the public in every syllable (unintelligible) of Lemmy, half the people had them for him, the immortal idol of every generation of metal. Overkill after you turn off the light, and someone even drops a few tears from emotion.
Aided by the presence of the Fuel girls (beautiful woman who make a funny show playing with fire) have made an incredible show . We felt transported in the 80's with the giant antlers, the lights devices, the music at the most impaired and girls with large next to the idols of the moment.

In Flames

An high quality show for the 5 Swedes, composed with pieces rarely performed live and some of the classics like Take this life, Only for the weak and many more.So, for the fans a real gem as the Dead End was not a little excited. Usually show of lights and flames that left everyone amazed even those who because of his closed-minded does not like this training exceptional.

Doro

How can we forget the Metal Queen, the only one? Doro, the female symbol of Germany but also famous all over the world as the Warlock singer.
She’s the official opener of Wacken with the Hymn “we are the metalheads” and it s possible to see her more than one time on the stage during the festival.
When comes the time of her own show she has the opportunity to remember old pieces and play cover like “Breakin’ the law” creating a relaxing atmosphere with a rock sound.
A great show with lights and movement over the stage ,a good chance to close the night before the last show at 2.00 a.m. performed by Amon Amarth.


Amon Amarth

Good as usual proof of the quintet especially at the beginning, in part affected by an adjustment of the sounds are not perfect, which penalized in particular the voice of Johann Heggie. On the stage was set up a Viking scene, with a bow of Drakkar that dominated the scene, fence in the background with circular shields, and even scenes Skirmish between Vikings fully armed. Suidakra

After a change with Napalm death the day before the German band of Arkadius comes on the stage with a triumphant march but it’s not what the performance will be.
The show start with some classic track and go on with some acoustic and folk pieces the line of the show becomes sometimes great and sometimes boring so the public doesn’t remain impressed by the performance cause it results too soft. Maybe the morning time for the performance could be the cause of this failure.

Einherjer

Another great performance for the fans of the viking and black metal scene by the band Einherjer, which after their intro climb on stage. The Norwegian quartet full of energy shoot more than ever one after one all the classics of their production.
Precise, direct and upset, this is what everybody wanted and that is what we have achieved.
Excellent performances of Ironbound and the final Far Far North, where the bass will try a clean sung overcoming the usual qualities of the singer. An enjoyable show for those who are not interested in the genre.


Rage

25-year of career for the Ger”man band who celebrates it at Wacken with a magnitude of 4 collaborations as Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian) with “Set The World On Fire, Schmier (Destruction)with “Going Down”, Jen Majuri (guest vocalist on Rage and Blind Guardian) and Eric Hercht ( Subway To Sally).
The Show is truly priceless for the fans of the band, but also interesting for those who do not listen to them regularly, then just a show worthy of celebration activities throughout this prolific and influential in the metal scene..


Cathedral

Beautiful show by Cathedral for those who appreciate the stoner and doom, the band with a dirty sound strikes the audience and make the public have fun with the poses and characters of Lee Dorrian. Excellent technical performance full of braids between guitar and bass to hypnotise the audience.. Obviously, closing as usual with Hopkins (The Witchfinder General) who leaves all with open mouth for 5 minutes, all with hypnotic riffs.


Testament

Now around the Europe on tour Testament pass from Wacken pass. Good show as usual, but if you have the possibility to see them more than one time you can notice that the show is a little bit ripetitive. The setlists are always the same like the set and the rest. Of course those who go to see them do not expect the same Chuck Billy of the 80's, his style has changed completely abolished acute replaced by roars of vocal power.



Borknagar

Borknagar give us a performance that disappointed many of the participants, perhaps because many of the Vintersorg singing without sound effects results unsatisfactory and also because the bass player could avoid getting on a stage with a fretless bass to 8 strings, making each line of a solo bass . It was obvious that Borknagar have lost the line trying to improve themselves beyond their limits, absolutely a questionable choice.

In extremo

Spectacular and exciting show for the German band, probably excited for the location where they played, so the band leaves much surprised and amazed with their easy-listeing pieces and all the fireworks . Extensive use of different instruments that make the audience curious and leaves stuck with his eyes to the stage, good choice that involved the audience with pieces like Frei Zu Sein and SÄNGERKRIEG. Excellent 's performance of all members but especially for the frontman who can tame the public well.

Enslaved

Right time and right place it can be said. The Norwegian band definitely hypnotize the public with Viking and sometimes black atmosphere, with lights and imagines they made a psychedelic show that result one of the best during the festival.
The night falls over their heads so the show becomes interesting piece by piece
Also cause all the tracks they played are chosen from different albums and times of their career and that’s the reason why the performance results beautiful without negative shadows.

Saxon

A great show for all who like the entire Saxon discography and not just the classics.
In fact, with an initiative on the Internet to choose a song to the fans they have revisited their discography making a very fresh and varied exhibition.
Good shape for the particular training that Biff Byford at the venerable age of 58 years he held for one hour and a half on stage doing that intense scream and shake the public.
Not even a defect or a deburring, as everything must go. At the end of the classic pulled incredible as Crusader, Power And The Glory, Princess Of The Night, Heavy Metal Thunder and Live To Rock,747,Stallions Of The Highway in the end closing as usual with Denim And Leather.


Korpilklaani

A flobby and a bit disappointing the show by KORPIKLAANI they have not created the enthralling as usual a lot of melancholy and pieces mostly instrumental, a slippery feeling for the audience.
Despite this, the people were still happy but those who had already seen them knows that the show compared to their standard was poor. Wooden Pints and Beer Beer were almost unrecognizable, and they have not chosen songs as Palovana that would have changed the show. Disappointment.
