Among my numerous audiences, the accident make me listen a band, called ‘Acres of Ocean’,(UK made) and even if in a first moment i was a few prejudiced about the genre , their demo was able to fascinate and charm me.
It’s a shame that there are just two songs in this self-titled demo, but this mix of ambient, gothic and psychedelic rock created in my head atmospheres that make me seriously think to the ocean. The first track, ‘Cymatics’, with an almost prog metal intro, changes in a mid tempo that seems taking his influence on Pink Floyd memories, much melancholic and sublime. The voice I heard is like a blow, thin but intense, while the guitar stuff is dull in a pleasantly way and the drums is ‘shoal’.
Same aspects for the second track , ‘Oceanic’, starting with a quite sinister arpeggio and slowing down in a bittersweet song, that amaze us with an outro nicely strong and , I could say, metal! However the aspect I most like is the emotional feelings of this music.
