When I first heard that DDP decided to gather the band once again with some
future members as Laaz Rockit, Tesla, Trauma and many others with some special
guests for recording their oldies songs with some news ones. I can't wait to
hear this album. I knew that they will give us something special because behind
this band greatest metal Troops, for that I’ve anticipated all this powerful
sound full of talent and experience. May be there's no one who has no idea about
Chuck Billy (Testament) and Steve "Zetro" Souza (Exodus) they’re legends of
thrash metal thanks to their Killer sound. It’s really cool to see them in the
same band, this is not just the Steve Souza and chuck billy show, because this
album would not be perfect without the massive amount of riffs that Andy Billy,
Greg Bustamante with excellent bass of Willy Lange throw our way to get this
awesome sound. Anyway everything is clear now and the surprise has been revealed
by their awesome album. Just knowing who's in this band would encourage you to
buy this album.
Let’s talk about the songs you will notice that older philosophical thrash metal
full of great riffs has put on “DDP 4 Life” it just goes to show you that if you
want some excellent thrash. They showed us their skills on those absolutely
killer songs and thrash sound. My favourite song on this album is “Trail to the
Executioner” a great and catchy song indeed, and we can’t forget the magical
song “Devil in Disguise” almost gets you high. they have put all their feelings,
when I heard the intro of this song it reminded me of “Legacy “by Testament. It
seems like Chuck Billy has brought some Testament-like sound to the band, this
song makes you fly with the feeling of a greatest guitar solos which he played
with deep feelings, something that most guitar players overlook in favour of
technical skill. That what makes this record as great as it is.
DDP left the surprise for last. DDP 4 Life closes with an especially song
“Corruption” that most of us would not even be close to understand. The lyrics
are in some Native American dialect. And there re tree covers have gave the
album another sight, they have choose special songs Motorhead's "Iron Fist,"
Thin Lizzy's "Cold Sweat" and UFO's "Lights Out.", . All in all, DDP brought us
a great reminder of old school thrash metal. I would recommend this album to
anyone into loud and powerful metal.
